Trattamento multimodale di un caso di disturbo di panico senza agorafobia
Multimodal treatment of a case of panic disorder without agoraphobia

The aim is to illustrate multimodal behavior therapy, exemplifying its application to a case of panic disorder. The basic characteristics of the multimodal approach are first illustrated, i.e., its empirical nature, technical eclecticism, the analytical and global definition of personality, and its basic procedures. Furthermore, emphasis is put on the role that the multimodal approach develops in advancing knowledge in clinical psychology and in assessing the results of psychotherapy. Subsequently, a clinical case is discussed, illustrating the typical procedures of the approach, the phases of the intervention and the results.
