Tab. IV. L'agorafobia viene osservata nei pazienti menierici con frequenza analoga ai pazienti con disturbo di panico e in modo significativamente più frequente rispetto ai pazienti non menierici. Agoraphobia is observed in Ménière's patients with a similar frequency to that observed in patients with Panic Disorder and is significantly higher in patients with non-Ménière's vertigo.

Tab. V. Gli attacchi di panico caratterizzano soprattutto i pazienti con DP; i pazienti menierici possono presentare qualche caso ma non in maniera significativa rispetto i non menierici. Panic attacks mainly characterise patients with Panic Disorder; patients with Ménière's disease may show some panic behaviour, but not significantly more than patients with non-Ménière's vertigo.

Fig. 1. Nei pazienti vertiginosi, si osserva una stretta correlazione tra intensità della paura ed intensità dell'evitamento. In patients with vertigo, a tight correlation is observed between fear intensity and magnitude of avoidance.

Fig. 2. Nei pazienti vertiginosi, l'ansia si correla principalmente alla depressione, così come l'evitamento alla paura. Esistono tuttavia correlazioni significative, anche se più lievi tra paura ed ansia e tra depressione ed evitamento. In patients with vertigo, anxiety is mainly correlated with depression, as avoidance is correlated with fear. However, there are significant correlations, albeit weaker, between fear and anxiety and between depression and avoidance.

Tab. VII. L'evitamento è maggiormente presente nei pazienti menierici e di età più avanzata; quando si osserva agorafobia l'evitamento è sempre presente e di grado elevato. Avoidance is most present in older patients with Ménière's disease; in the presence of agoraphobia, avoidance is always present and high.

Tab. VIII. I pazienti vertiginosi con anamnesi psichiatrica positiva tendono ad essere più depressi e più ansiosi ma non con maggiore paura o evitamento. Non vi è significativa differenza di positività anamnestica nei due sottogruppi di vertiginosi né i precedenti influenzano l'intensità dei vissuti di paura ed evitamento. Patients with vertigo and positive psychiatric history tend to be more depressed and anxious, but are not more fearful or avoidant. There is no significant difference in past psychiatric history between the two vertigo subgroupssottogruppi di vertiginosi, nor do past episodes influence the intensity of fear and avoidance experiences.
