Il progetto CIP e la creazione di
una banca dati nazionale per la Psichiatria
The Committee for Informatics in Psychiatry
(CIP) project and the creation of a national databank for psychiatry in Italy
To adequately correspond to current public health policy, which tends to impose
an increasingly integrated processing of clinical records and information, the
Committee for Informatics in Psychiatry (CIP) was established in 1996. The CIP
is a nonprofit scientific association founded to promote the use of informatics
in psychiatry and to work-out a national databank for psychiatry, accessible
through computer, in order to favour integrated scientific project (research
on epidemiology and clinical-therapeutic protocols) planning on a wide territory.
In this paper, the various phases of the development of the project are described,
both as regards the informatic system and the adopted software.
