A research on clinical records regarding psychiatric inpatients of more than 50 years old has been carried-out to assess the frequency and type of reported life events, splitting up results in relation to sex.Male patients reported a significant preponderance of events related to their physical decline and job, or other events not directly related to their family relationships, while female patients more frequently reported events directly linked to their family and affective life.
