The "new" psychotropic drugs: their use in pregnancy and lactation
The role of second generation psychotropic drugs in pregnancy and lactation is reviewed with specific emphasis on antidepressants, anxiolytics, anticonvulsivants, hypnotics and atypical antipsychotics. Potential strategies of psychiatric treatment in pregnancy and breastfeeding are suggested.
