Schizofrenia: oltre il deficit cognitivo
Schizophrenia: Beyond the Cognitive Deficit

This paper argues against Frith’s theory of the positive symptoms of schizophrenia, such as delusions of control, auditory hallucinations, and thought insertion in terms of a disruption of self-monitoring mechanisms. Even if this explanation can justify symptoms, as for example, delusions of control, the same model cannot explain the whole psychopathology of schizophrenia. In place of such neurocognitive explanations, this paper suggests an integration between Frith’s theory of schizophrenia and that of Sass.
